with Our Ocean Planet.

Stephanie Macdonald is an interdisciplinary scientist, MSDT diver, photographer and activist specialising in marine conservation, environmental equity and connecting science to policy with a particular interest in underwater digital media projects.

With a passion for connection and communication, Stephanie hopes to inspire others and share her deep love for our blue planet and the beautiful marine life it holds.

As an MSc student at the University of Edinburgh, Stephanie’s current work focuses on supplanting colonial white supremacy culture in the ocean sciences to deliver distributional justice.

“Just as the sea is an open and ever flowing reality, so should our oceanic identity transcend all forms of insularity, to become one that is openly searching, inventive, and welcoming.”
